Prior to treatment 12/12 PSA 5.9 PAP 2.8 Testosterone 459

End to treatment 08/2013 PSA .1 PAP 1.1 Testosterone 9

6 Months later 02/2014 PSA .1 PAP 1.2 Testosterone 400

I was told they like to see PSA @ .008, may take up to three years reach that.

I suppose I should be happy with the results, but it's probably too early in the game to know. I guess it's just the nature of this disease, your always one blood test away from not being okay

Congrats on your great progress and good test results. Enjoy every day as a true bonus day, because each one if for all us dealing with this nasty cancer.

.1 is excellent. I've never heard the expectation for .008 for a straight radiation guy. is there something I'm missing?

I had received the medical records from my follow up, but the blood work was not yet available. when it was, they simply sent it to me with no explanation on what it all means. When I questioned them this is the response I received

"Letters are sent out when ABNORMAL lab results occur. Your testosterone recovering is a good thing & the PAP is preferred to be lower than 2, also good. The PSA can be lower...eventually we'd like to see it at more of an undetectable range of .008. Time frames for reaching this goal are variable from patient to patient & can take up to 3 years after seeding"

At first I thought .1 was the lowest it could be.

Not knowing what (Dart) was I went to Dattoli's site and at least was able to verify that it was a type of radiation; without a medical dictionary that was all I was able to discover. My degree in English 49 years ago didn't help a bit!

At 100 days or close to 3 months I think you are doing very well for a radiation guy with seeds. I did note that this Dr is very proud about his business and is outspoken about his opposition to surgery__maybe that was to be expected.
