(Joe Doe) FROM OUR SUPPORT GROUP HAS BEEN IN THE HOSPITAL 4 TIMES IN THE LAST 6 WEEKS. HE HAS BEEN IN THIS TIME FOR 2 WEEKS AND LOOKS LIKE HE WILL BE THERE FOR AT LEAST 5 MORE DAYS. UGLY DISEASE...................He has battled PCa for many years, probably 10-12 yrs. range, he has done many drugs including DES, Lupron, Casodex...estradiol patches, etc. As you can see below he has most pain right now caused by C. Diff. (see definition below Mayo Clinic's words)
HE IS ALSO FIGHTING PROSTATE CANCER IN HIS LIVER (OVER HALF IS INFECTED)......ALONG WITH SOME METS IN VARIOUS AREAS OF HIS BODY.
NINETY PERCENT OF THE PAIN IS CAUSED BY THE C. DIFF, AND NOT THE CANCER. THE UP SIDE IS HIS PSA HAS BEEN DROPPING WITH EVERY BLOOD TEST.
HE IS PRESENTLY ON XTANDI (enzalutamide) AND WEEKLY TAXOTERE........
I WILL KEEP YOU GUYS UPDATED.............(this info is 2nd hand but from our closest mentor to Joe and myself, whom is seeing him in the hospital and calling him)
Definition of C. DIFF
By Mayo Clinic Staff
Clostridium difficile (klos-TRID-e-um dif-uh-SEEL), often called C. difficile or C. diff, is a bacterium that can cause symptoms ranging from diarrhea to life-threatening inflammation of the colon.
Illness from C. difficile most commonly affects older adults in hospitals or in long-term care facilities and typically occurs after use of antibiotic medications. However, studies show increasing rates of C. difficile infection among people traditionally not considered high risk, such as younger and healthy individuals without a history of antibiotic use or exposure to health care facilities.
Each year, more than a half million people get sick from C. difficile, and in recent years, C. difficile infections have become more frequent, severe and difficult to treat
***I feel bad for Joe having such an ordeal, saw him at a past meeting and he was in agony looking pain and drained out, but still came to it. So, many related issues to this disease that we might not even think about, cachetia (or however it spelling, weight loss caused by cancer) and many others.

Now a minor update on my current journey, the femur radiations look like it is starting to work and lessening of pain seems to be apparent with treatment #5 behind me, 5 more sessions next week. Finally had the bowels working after 4-5 days of constipation likely from pain meds, backing up cannot be good for your system. So, that relief has helped my back and/or lower pains. I decided to do the 'Liver flush' co-invented by Dr. Hulga Clark, it is a simple home protocol to cleanout bile ducts and liver and supposedly the results can be witnessed in the toilet bowl and they have info and photos and testimonials on their website. My brother has been dealing with high blood pressure for years now, every time he did this protocol his blood pressure dropped to normal immediately (rather interesting phenomena), lasts a while for him, then can re-do it. Anyway did this last night and now awaiting the super flow results, sometime today.....they advise you now be far from the porcelain thrown (LOL). So, I may feel mega great after this and I stopped taking the pain meds now and think I can get away from them, which is great. Soon will have to get another psa and other markers tests and my bone scan results maybe by Tues. to know more about the dragon.
