I was reading a book called Healing Spices last year as I was flying home from Bud's ( Raddad ) funeral.

In it I read that the capsaicin in chile has been shown to kill cancer cells and lower PSA

I went on to read that fenugreek and pomegranate stops or slows the growth of prostate cancer cells

add sun dried tomatoes and tumeric to that list

I felt sad I found this information AFTER Buddy passed away.

I've added some of these to my diet, I'm a stage IV throat cancer survivor myself

I tell others that at best it will help you, at worst you'll be eating tasty food

Just never saw your interest before, then boom there , suspicious minds.. I have pretty good senses, 5 post from a biological brother of a beloved member still seems suspicious to me. I never had the pleasure of meeting Bud, heard so many good things including the scholarship his family formed for those unable to afford attending GFMPH, but joined HW just before he died a year ago.

I am more from the innocent until proven guilty school and you seem to rely on your instincts that how he puntuates his username is his tell.

His post seemed innocent enough to me, but I may not have the instincts you have. I find that given enough time and space, people will reveal their motives and see no need to curtail discussion before it starts.

Last I will post on that portion of this thread but glad to continue discussion on value or evils of cayenne pepper or any other remedy.

With respect to spices and vitmains, I probably have the most expensive urine in FL, but since the only other thing I do to combat advanced PCa is a shot inthe butt every 4 months, it helps me to think I am on the offensive rather than jsut playing defense.

This is not a new topic here.

Capsaicin has been proven in Cedars Sinai lab to slow prostate cancer in mice. But not humans. Not tat it doesn't but that it has never been proven to have the same effect in humans. There are trials underway on it. But it will take years to prove anything.

Pomegranate is a different story. In a couple trials it has been proven to have an oncological effect of slowing the disease progression. At least by measurement of PSA. Weather it had an overall survival affect it not know but it did slow PSA. I know a few friends that used it including David Emerson. Dave eventually lost his battle but he was quite advanced.

I have no information on Fenugreek.

I can say for my own case I am a capsaicin freak. Long before I ever was diagnosed I have grown pepper especially cayenne pepper which has a rich supply of capsaicin. It did not have a prevention effect for me. Whether it slowed progression is a thing I will never know. but it did not help me in natural ways to prevent anything.

I was on that Cure panel show as a panelist and I did note Klotz's comment. So I'll leave it at ~ plausible.

Yes I do feel stupid, but the pleasure that will provide others here, more than makes up for it, wouldn't you say. I also knew by persisting, the truth would come out.Which is why I doubled down, took the risk and possible subsequent,now realized, embarrassment. I do not monday morning quarterback myself. From start to finish the abhorrence of the such an act, enraged me and I was going to find and get the truth. The fact that no one came and revealed the truth,{ I rarely will read a thread that is old even with new updates as I find them to be confusing and misleading}dug my hole deeper{my shovel, my tongue} I do regret and apologize to Rad Dads Bro that the situation, got so far out of mouth. And yes it is true many of these spices have been tested on animals and they worked but so far to my knowledge i cannot say human testing has been completed

But think about it, they are spices, how can they hurt and they might, just might help. so do we wait until the testing is done and the lengthy FDA approval is completed or do we eat tasty food and possibly improve our lives?

That's how I have always looked at it. It is unlikely to hurt, might help, and if food you can enjoy eating it.

I have taken lots of everything over the years, and nothing kept me from getting a G9 (5+4) PC. I had a D3 blood level of about 80, quite high. At first I was angry and disgusted with the entire natural approach. But then it occurred to me: who is to say that my G9 would not have been much further along at diagnosis, or been full of mets, if I had not taken the supplements and eaten the foods that I did? No way to ever know, either way.

You say: "so do we wait until the testing is done and the lengthy FDA approval is completed". The studies will likely never be done or be excruciatingly slow to show up. There is nothing to be patented and thus no massive profits to pay for all of the research. In fact, proving that some natural substance helped might actually decrease profits being made by all mainstream treatments. So, not much financial incentive to find these things out. Although, there would be financial incentive to prove natural substances ineffectiveness.

This is a place to share ideas and seek & share help from others. I first began reading your forum's posts trying to understand what Bud was going thru. I couldn't add much since I had throat cancer - I have tons of useful info on that but little on prostate cancer.

What I did contribute was Bud, I steered him to this and Cancer Survivor Network, he preferred HW, me CSN. No problem there it helped him. I told Bud that survivors, those currently undergoing treatment or recently diagnosed were on the site sharing what I consider to be invaluable information
Told Bud there were no haters or pscho's who were glad you had cancer

Then from under a rock crawls an idiot who instantly alters my perception albeit momentarily about this site

You guys have a good thing going on here - don't let one idiot ruin it for you. Most posts were pertinent, intelligently agreeing or disagreeing. That is what these forums are all about; sharing ideas and experiences.

Read thru his rambling incomprehensible prose - not one single piece of advice or opinion on the subject matter just an unrelenting attack on me which he says was pleasurable

I strongly suggest you block him until he promises to play nice with the adults. He needs to understand there are consequences to his actions. I read that he has attacked others as well.

You my friends have a genuine hater on your site and should clean him out

One of the services I provide to this forum on occasion is to translate Logos' postings into plain English. His last posting, properly decoded, turns out to be a reasonably thorough apology, admittedly one larded with non sequitur and evasion.

I realize that this puts some of you in the position of being asked to forget the shredding of your pants cuff and forgive the over-excitable family dog who isn't usually like that. But there you go.

When he spoke of the pleasure his tangent would cause he was speaking of our pleasure at his expense rubbing his face in his mistake. He may have a point. I have just compared him to a small dog chewing on a houseguest's pants leg. That was kind of fun. And no less than he deserves.
