I have been very successfully using a 30 to 1 bimix for many years. My original prescription called for a .40 injection, however I now use .15 to .20 several days a week. I have never had any after injection ache or pain as I did with straight alprostadil (prostaglandin).
I always store mine in the refrigerator and most compounders will ship it to you with an ice pack. I think someone said that bimix is less stable than trimix, so needs to be kept cool.
Thank you Ligeguyd! I don't know what the mixture is the pharm is planning on using, apparently something they have had good success with over a lot of years. If you happen to know, is that 30 to 1 mixture you use 30 times more papaverine than phentolamine or vice versa? Just curious, not that it matters I'm sure I'll be using whatever they are willing to give me.
EDIT: Never mind, I think I see the answer:
"The trimix may be increased to a super trimix combination of the
same papaverine 30 mg, while doubling both the phentolamine (to 2 mg) and the prostaglandin E1 (to 20 mg) (EDIT #2 surely they meant 20 MCG?) in doses up to 1 ml maximum. Finally, if a single-agent prostaglandin and trimix are ineffective, atropine 0.15mg/ml can be added to the trimix combination to create a quad mixture (Baniel et al., 2000; Montorsi et al., 2002)."
So looks like standard is Pap 30 mg to Phen 1 mg, I guess that is what you have been using. Sounds like you are happy with it.
