I am about 4 yeas and 6 months post rp and all psa tests have been undetectable, that is, <.02 or less. My uro now says I can switch to once a year psa tests.

Does this seem appropriate to most out here?

That is reasonable . Some urologists would have changed the testing sooner. Good luck.

Reasonable and expected. Most docs consider 5 years to be a magic marking point - beyond which the odds of a re-occurrence is very remote.

some might even be bold enough to use the word, "cured." but I hesitate to bring that up for fear of sparking that debate again.

You're doing great and likely have beaten this thing. Enjoy the good news and go live life.

Hi Craig, - Perfectly reasonable! In fact he has been more conservative than many would have been with your low-end medium risk numbers, so you should feel quite comfortable in doing so. - John@newPCa.org (aka) az4peaks

i'll be four years post end of treatment in September. my doc's plan is to switch me to annual testing at that time, if......

Seems reasonable to me. My uro cut me back to once a year after about 2 1/2 years and I'm still alive to tell the tale.

Sounds reasonable, but if you are concerned, just have a test as often as you want. No permission needed.
