I stumbled into HealingWell.com recently, and glad I did.

Age 57

PSA went from 1.7 to 2.7 to 3.0.

Family History of Prostate and Breast cancer.

Biopsy suggested - 2 of 12 core positive -1 core 10%

G6 (3+3)

Stage T1C

We oppted for surgery.

I had a da Vinci radical prostatectomy Aug. 7th.

Pathology Report

G7 (3+4)

Stage T2C - involving both lobes

Margins Neg

EE - not identified

SVI - not identified

Very thankful that it was confined to the prostate.

Urologist stated that we absolutely made the right decision, and I have to agree.

As of Aug 18, I'm catheter free!! That is a small victory. Just need to work on the leaky faucet. :-)

Taking it all a day at a time.

Let me be the first to welcome you aboard David! Sounds like you qualify for membership in our little club none of us ever wanted to join.

With your original stats, it sound like you jumped the gun pretty quickly but your final pathology report showed you made a wise choice.

Now all you have to do is start healing, walking some for exercises and sit back and wait for your first post-op PSA test. Once you get that result, we can welcome you to the infamous "Zero Club".

Glad to hear you're on the mend and you feel confident with your choice of treatment.

Took me 4 mos to the day to be 100% continent, but everyone's different. Could be sooner or later for you. Keep doing kegels.. And take walks.

Hopefully this will all just become a bad memory!
