On April 7, 2015 I will celebrate my 5 year anniversary of being prostate free.
I can recall the difficult realization that I had CANCER. The very difficult decision process looking at so many options to address the problem. The calm after making a decision on a path forward. The relief after the surgery and a good pathology report. The delight at being "leak tight" at 5 weeks. The big smile when I overcame the early ED issues with a little help from Cialis.
Now as I approach this 5 year mark I am cancer-free, no urinary issues and no ED (no need for Cialis).
Today's annual visit with my urologist at City of Hope Cancer Research Hospital was a great Christmas present to myself. Once again my PSA is undetectable.
Less than 0.04, below what the lab can detect (with the standard test). It has remained undetectable for the past 56 months and hopefully many, many more.
I know I am very, very lucky. This "trifecta" is what we all want when we start this journey.
Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanzaa and Happy New Year to all my brothers in this fight. Good Luck to all of us.

I'm sure you'll still be in the Zero Club when you hit the 5 year mark, but here's to your Unlimited membership.
