I went to the pharmacy tonight and got a little sticker shock. $138 for 3 pills of Cialis. The pharmacy tech said there had been a recent price increase, and he thought it was probably because the patent in the US runs out soon. (I found out that happens in 2016). I thought I had paid about $20 per pill before, so that was quite a surprise. Has anyone else seen a big price increase? I guess it could be my insurance to blame, as well.

My Rx restarted in December, and I noticed then that it had gone up substantially. Don't have details at hand, but it got my attention.

But my BP med went up 25% as well.

Is that for the 5MG dose? Geez Louise !

I got a 30 day free supply, doc wants me to take it daily. After the 30 day runs out, I am only covered for 6 pills every 22 days of any dosage.

Maybe get the 10. Or 25 mg pills and cut them in half or quarters

yeah, I cut the 25's in half, and that's fine for me. Also, I use the manufacturer's coupon once in a while...

I have often suspected that Lilly ICOS selected their signature almond shape for the pills to make life difficult for men with pill cutters.

If you are cutting the pills into quarters it is very difficult to get the pieces even but the half-life of Cialis is fairly long and if you are careful to take all four pieces of each pill one after another before you start on the next pill you can be pretty sure you are getting a fairly even dosing. If you cut all the pills and throw all the pieces back in the bottle you will tend to take all the big pieces first and by the end of the month you'll be stuck with nothing but the smaller pieces from the pointy end of the pills.

I am very lucky I also take the 5 mgs daily, and have $45 co-pay for my 90 day supply...took some doing but got my insurance to agree to pay for this a huge win for me! One of the great benefits from retiring from a great job.

Peter, I agree about the shape of the pills. Clever drug designers...
I found that I can actually break them with my fingers easier than using a pill cutter.

I pay less that a buck for a 20mg pill and I take 2/3rds of a pill a day. since these are generic I figure i'm taking about 10mg a day.

BTW, Cialis comes in either 5mg or 20mg (not 25mg).

I haven't checked lately, but <snip> (online pharmacy) sells Tadalifil (generic Cialis) at somewhere around $1/20mg pill; less I think.

I cut the 20mg pills in half and take every other day.

Kindly use email or some other way of communicating among yourselves to share your favorite online offshore pharmacies

First: Cialis has a very mild and neutral taste. For 3 years now, I simply bite off a what I think I need from a 20 mg. tablet.  I used to get all precise with pill splitters and cutters but IMO that is not necessary.
