April Tests

No Miki, doctors appt is the 10th, one day after Bobs. I decided to get the PSA test done at Quest so I the results will be in when I see the Dr.

I do not do psa tests anymore, so the anxiety should be gone, but I have anxiety about not doing it now. Choices… When oh when will the robots save us from our selves and that pesky irritant of imperfection. Gosh I made another choice just then with that sentence and of course, it was the wrong one, coincident to the present paradigm.

So. Found out that I could sign up to get my test results emailed to me directly, from Quest. Which I did.
So now every time I hear the sound on my phone that I have a new email , I'll be nauseous

Not sure about the procedure, at one point it said I would get results one week after my Dr, but then when I. Submitted the request, it said I would get the results in5 days. Anybody know about this?

Your a funny guy Prato with a heartening self-deprecation!

Tomorrow (9th) is the day. Second post op PSA. I am going insane. I have the "PSA anxiety" you guys talk about. Bob will be going without me tomorrow. His doctor is several hundred miles away and we're supposed to get bad storms and possible tornadoes. I have anxiety attacks during storms and have to take medication so that means I'm staying here. I am extremely nervous over this one . Don't know if it's because of the upcoming storms just giving me a bad vibe or what. If you pray I'd appreciate your prayers, if you aren't a believer just send some positive thoughts our way for undetectable PSA and safe travel for Bob tomorrow.~Miki

Miki, I just went through it, as you probably saw in another thread. I know the panicky feeling. I will tell you what guys here told me. If it was 0 8 weels ago, it will be a zero now. It turned out to be the case with me, and it will be with you too

Congrats to all who are reporting encouraging tests. I am pleased to report another undetectable as well. Equally important, the doc said that for all practical purposes I am in the clear. He wants one more visit in a year.

Logo, a friend who battled breast cancer reported a similar sense of anxiety over stopping tests. It seems the message that you are still ok has reassurance value, even if one intellectually knows they are 'in the clear.'

I'm just catching up on this thread. BIG congrats to Mel, JT, Prato and Explorer. I'm really happy for all of you. And, good luck to all whose April results are still to come.

Congrats on the good #'s.
I'm checking in with my results today too. I usually get my results at Mayo in a couple hours. When I go to my local oncologist it takes 2-4 days. Anyway, everything's in normal ranges and PSA IS STILL UNDETECTABLE! Woohoo!

Good hearing from ya Gunfighter. I'm over any anxiety over not doing psa tests,…. enjoying life. I am seriously not afraid to die whenever it happens. In an odd way, real, bone fide awareness of the whole concept of existence… life death…suffering/pain… the whole enchilada is very releasing for me. Aging can be a drag in ways. I read it somewhere and may have posted it, but someone said " Growing old is like being increasingly penalized for a crime you didn't commit"

Sigh -- I think we need Moderators (which we have) and a Logo Logic Translator.
