Joh's stats are Pt3b, SVI, EXE, positive margin G6 at apex, 4+3 with tertiary 5, RPP 10/13. PSA's .02 to .03 til adjuvant radiation started on 7/14. PSA's post-ART were .03 at 3 months, .05 at six months and .17 at 9 months. It was the triple-fold increase in three months that scared us. But med onc said his "line in the sand" was .02 before he considers it an issue. He did say it's incurable, micrometastatic and John would need hormones. He wouldn't start that til PSA was around 4. Was big on doing intermittent HT with caveat of it working. Wants a PSA in two months. Said it's too early to see the aggressiveness or calculate PSADT. Felt it was the tertiary 5 that's being a problem. Also felt, as did rad onc, that cells had escaped even before surgery. He also talked a lot about clinical trials. Moffitt, where we went, is a research institute so he's on top of the latest advances. Hope this helps. Question for you: how are you doing on the Lupron? An added stat, John's testosterone has been around 290 since surgery. He feels great.
