Received good news this morning from my latest PSA after SRT. My PSA was .06 in Jan 2015. I had RRP surgery in Oct 2007, so I was 88 months out. Still very low PSA. My urologist recommended that I pull the trigger on SRT. So I agreed and started the process to go to M.D. Anderson in Houston. My RO agreed it was time. Plan included 70 g's over seven weeks. I finished May 15, 2015. The process and people at MDA were outstanding.
My 10.5 week reading came back at .006. Very dramatic change- realizing that we are dealing with a very small amount of PSA.
I will see RO in two weeks to get her opinion of where we are. I am pretty sure she will be as happy as I am about this number. Might be save to get a 15 year loan- LOL
I am thankful to the Lord, great doctors and the wealth of information I have received from this forum. You and your combined knowledge helped immeasurably in the ability to move forward with confidence that I was doing the right thing at the right time. No real side effects.
I realize we are all at different stages in this journey. I am hesitant to post my good news of today - not wanting to sadden anyone who is father down the road whose news is not so encouraging. By posting, I felt it might bring encouragement to those who are still seeking encouraging options for where they are.
I hope my numbers are durable, if they are not I will seek the knowledge and wisdom from those of you who are further along. You are very, very valuable to the success of this community. I respect you and pray for you and your well being daily.
Rejoice with me today, and let's all continue to fight the beast the best way we know how. Blessings
David
