Welcome to HW, sorry you need to be here.
It's a kick in the head isn't it? The shock will wear a little, but don't panic because the good news is that with your numbers you can expect a great outcome. You're very much in that 'curable' zone. There is even a good possibility that you can avoid treatment for a long time with an AS (active surveillance) program.
A second opinion is the best thing right now. I keep hearing folks talking about a Dr. Dattoli in your part of the world. Others will come by soon with other recommendations.
Surgery isn't your only option, the various radiation options might be better in your case. You'll want to talk to a good surgeon, and a radiation oncologist. Likely two ROs, one who does beams and one who does the brachy therapy (seed implants).
Check out the sticky threads at the top of the forum and start learning about this PC thing. It can get confusing fast. You've got a slow growing cancer so you've got time to make an informed decision - don't let anyone rush you.
Hang in there and keep us updated on your progress,
Andrew
All of that! Many G6s die in old age of the more normal things that kill us all, rather than PC, even if they do NOTHING! Autopsies (in places where PSA testing is not normally done) show that a whole bunch- maybe a majority- of age 60+ men who die of various causes had PC and did not even know it. Finally, no matter what treatment you choose, there is an extremely high chance that you will be cured.
So main thing: take a deep breath, slow down, an start researching which treatment, if any, is best for you. Do NOT be rushed into surgery or any other treatment by anyone. And if you still decide you prefer surgery, find a very experienced surgeon- thousands of prostatectomies would be best- even if you have to travel. IMO.
EDIT: It is true that you could have something worse than a G6 in there. Just like it was true before you ever had the PSA tests or Bx. For an older man, you never really know what is growing in there. But OTOH, the only thing you actually know- that you didn't know a few months ago- is that you have a G6, a low risk result. You might even consider a 2nd opinion on those slides to make sure they are not even lower than G6.
EDIT: do you have the volume/percentage from your Bx?
