Why?

I didn't take it that way, but thanks for the reassurance.

So much emotional baggage comes with this disease, especially with the varying complexities of each individual lands with PCa , that I can see how easily it can become an upsetting topic.

For a chuckle or serious, I thought the subject of the OP was worthy of mentioning. "Why?" was the question. Why indeed!

Most especially why the ads with "pretty gals in short skirts"! There is not a lot I can do with that! (Actually, I had not even seen that one, I must watch for it)

I really think a lot of the 'why' PC isn't getting more public attention has to do with denial. Football players don't want to "go blue" for PC awareness because of the high probability that it will apply to them down the road. Face it, breasts are important to everyone, and preserving them is something we can all embrace.

Add to it the public perception, fueled by various commissions and study groups that create banner headlines and missing the point soundbites about how PSA is a worthless test and how nobody dies of PC anymore, and PC moves into a neverland of silence. What I do know is that as I talk to guys my age about my experiences, virtually everyone knows someone who has had it, or who has it, or their father, grandfather, or uncle died of it. Lots of men know about it, and worry about it. The public silence is what is most disturbing.
