Lapilot,
Have you been spending time with "The Wizard" in Rochester? It sure sounds like it. :)
Interesting info you gathered!
As a side note, recently learned from "The Wizard", stay away from the old red/orange radioactive Fiesta Ware! :)
I about
fell over when he showed me his "radiation sources" this fall. Amazing that the old Fiesta Ware was that radioactive. I have a meter in my lab that I'm going to bring next fall so we can really see how high the level is. It's high enough that it's off the scale of the low-dose meter Worried Guy has on hand.
I took a video during my radiation session once. I had the iPhone in my shirt pocket and recorded a session from walking in to walking out. During the radiation delivery, my phone had a lot of speckle noise in the video. I think it's electronic interference and not radiation. The modern RT machines with continuously variable collimation leaves are very accurate in radiation delivery. My treatment field was defined down to millimeter levels.
Here's a link to my Youtube video. It's not really visually dynamic, but it is a 1st person POV of a real IGRT session with overlaid comments about
what's happening at any time. Some have found it helpful when contemplating IGRT:
