I'm just wondering has anyone experienced painfull, frequent urination and slow stream
two months after RP.
Everything was going fine until last week, I presume it's from restriction
as the flow is much weaker and the results were clear for urinary infection.
I'm presuming infection would not cause restriction?
My 3 months follow up with the Urologist is not for another 3 weeks.

Call your doctor and complain now.

Infection could cause the symptoms, as could a number of other issues. I wouldn't wait for three weeks for an answer.

Hi Andrew,
Yes, I did complain and was lucky enough to get an appointment today.
Test results showed poor flow and high retention, he's recommending self catheterisation until they have a slot available to do surgery or stretching to remove the stricture.

Good. Not fun to do the self cath, but better than an ER visit.

Strictures happen. Hopefully the doc can fix that soon.

Self catheter did'nt work due to the blockage.
I was lucky they got me a trolley on the hall overnight as they were going to send me home
and bring me back the next morning to do the surgery.
By midnight he was putting in a pubic catheter directly into the bladder right beside the RP incision ..not that pleasant but what relief to get the bladder emptied.
They did the surgery the surgery the next day to unblock the restriction at the bladder neck.
I was surprised how quickly the bladder neck had completely closed up ..I think trying to insert the self catheter, the Cystoscopy, and then trying to put in a smaller size catheter might have aggrevated things.
All is well now, thank God.

Got the supra pubic catheter out and my 3 months Psa post RP came back at <0.04
which I'm told is undetectable.
Great news thank God and a great boost as I was feeling wrecked after the past weeks episode ...kinda reminded me of ER:-)

RR, yeah, beer does have that effect. It appears that you're doc has the same PSA machine mine does. His PA told me that the upgrade to get the "0.01" machine costs way more than they want to spend.

I requested a copy of my RP pathology report ...as previously posted surgery was in July with zero psa on the 3 month follow up.
I'm now just trying to make english of where it says both lobes involved and later says one half of a lobe or less.
What is the difference between a yellow and brown area
Prostate gland 57g. incl sem. ves.
GS 3+4=7
Tumor Vol ~10%
Tumor involves both lobes.
EPE, No
seminal ves. No
PNI yes
High grade PIN yes
6mm yellow area in the right posterior inferior segment
5x4mm brown area in the right mid inferior segment
