My mom just called. Dad passed away. As the truck warms up I am warmed by thought that he out of pain. Thank you for being here and all the kindness you have shown. Sometimes the bully is just too big.

Todd, so sorry. No matter how clear it is what is happening, no matter how much we "expect it", or know it's coming, we can never be prepared. It's always a hit to the gut when we get the news. And at the same time, I imagine, it may have been a relief for you, to know that your dad is no longer suffering.

I hope you and your mom find peace.

Sincerest condolences. At a time like this words are never enough, but on an Internet forum words are all we have.

But you know that, coming from your forum family here, our words are from the heart, for you, for your mom, and for all those affected by his passing.

Best wishes that time will slowly but surely heal your pain, and that all that will finally remain are the fond memories of your life with him.

Dear Todd,
I am saddened to hear about your dad passing. I know that it was expected and you are probably relieved but it is still a loss, one that may not hit you right away. Allow yourself to grieve. By mourning our loved ones, we keep them alive in our hearts. I still grieve my dad and its been almost eighteen years since he was taken from my family.

Sorry to hear this news Todd, but glad that your Father is no longer in pain. Last night I wanted to call my mom and dad to see how they were doing, and then I remembered that they were no longer here. It was a good kind of sadness, if there is such a thing.

Sorry to hear of your dad's passing. Loosing a parent is very hard but as you said, "he has gone home".
