Blood cloting two years after igart.

Recently I have been experiencing hematuria two years post IGRT. Went in for cystoscopy and found bladder cystitis I wasn't severe but every few months I end up passing a lot a blood until It finally passes a few blood clots then it clears up anyone experience this. Its a little mind rattling at first but iam consoling my seft in the fact this will be the new normal ,any ideas on anything that would help with this, iam all ears.

I've not had that. It's not common, but does happen. It's a kick in the head to have clots and blood come out of there. No idea what would help, likely you've been told to drink plenty of water.

My hand is up--I started to experience this, first just a little at the end of last year, but the most recent experience went 10 days, often with a great deal of blood--more blood than urine. Once the blood clot was stuck in my urethra for several minutes and that hurt for another day or so. My cystoscopy showed nothing, as did lots of tests, but I have not seen the urologist since the tests and this latest bleeding. I assume it is radiation burn from my salvage radiation, when the old geezer who claimed to be an RO did not know about drinking water before each session. (I have changed ROs, the receptionist at the new place won't let you in until you imbibe.) (Since the failure of the salvage radiation I have devoted a lot of time to becoming, as my MO puts it, an "educated consumer.") I will post again once the urologist reaches a decision.

having same problem had my prostate removed in 2006 ... bleeding & clots come and go every few years.... right now i'm going through hyperbaric oxygen treatments to help fix problem... tony bosco

radiation cystitis. I had the same experience about two years out. started with urgency and burning and eventually started passing clots. cleared up after a couple of months. recently I went through some urgency and slight burning but only saw slight clots once. seems to have passed again. this is all normal i'm told.

Mine has been radiation proctitis i.e. Damage to rectum resulting in bleeding. It's on and off and kind of scary when there's mostly blood in the toilet. I had radio frequency ablation which helped somewhat. I'm following it and if it gets much worse I'll go in for more ablation. But my local GI doc was not overly concerned about it. So I'm not either.

Hi breake60 I had the same thing happen to me five weeks in to.my rt treatment,I was bleeding like a stuck pig, I could literally sit and watch blood just pour on out of me with no effert. Drove me nuts. Every week I would have a follow up with my oncologist and he would tell me there was nothing he could do for it so I took it on my self ,started eating iron supplements like they were candy and stuffing my but with procto-foam it helped a lot bleeding stopped for the duration of the treatment. Kept that up for about a month no problem since. But iam having a lot trouble with BMs, had coloninoscophy done about three months ago rectum looked like swiss cheese with all the diverticcoulosis I have and really looked like a rubber hose that was over saturated with acetone. So Iam pretty sure that is why iam bleeding in the bladder, kinda have ta do a lot of abdominal tweekking to get things moving if you follow my drift . Yes the new normal...RT...the gift that keeps on giving. Every time I have to go, jonny cash pops in my head down down down in a burning ring of Fire smhair
