The coincidence....i just had my "first" in some time...i recently had a new gf, we've been taking care of her, but I've had ED issues, being on Lupron of course...but finely was able to do the deed this weekend...it's different for me too, even not having surgery, it was different, and I didn't have anything to mark territory either, which seemed odd....but....

Point is, I know how you feel and am happy for ya brother!

Congrats, man. My first after finally weaning from Lexapro actually brought tears to my eyes, in a good way. Once every 2 or 3 years is not often enough!

For all my endless (nearly 8 years) troubles that began with my PC dx, the one area I was "blessed" with, was a total lack of any ED. Was able to have errections while still on my original cath post surgery and had my first "O" that way. I do not recommend doing so while with cath, but that's another story.

My post surgery/post radiation events are actually better than my pre-PC days. Basically have full woodies upon demand, and can complete the job at least 95% of the time. Orgasms for me, post, have been very long, deep, and intense.

The hold back for me, is the chronic pain in my life. So I don't seek sex no where as often as in pre-PC days. But, when the urge does strike, usually once a week, sometimes every other week, its all pretty much normal for me. There are times, when I am dealing with severe scrotum and pelvic pain after a romp. This pain can last easily 4-5 days or more.

For many here, ED and other sexual issues are much more common, and expected. My uro brought up the subject today, and still is amazed that I never had any issues. For those that are newer here, during my surgery (open), left nerve bundle was removed entirely, right side - the intent was to remove it, but surgeon was not able to access it properly, so as the surgical notes stated, "left intact but damaged". He makes no claim to this day for my good fortune in this area, views it more as the luck of the draw. I tend to agree.

halbert - I agree with your findings.

Most of my severe radiation damage is manifested in what's been referenced as "fused" nerves. The analogy given to me by doctors, is that its like having your main fuse panel in your house fried and the wires melted. My body is constantly getting wrong signals on a regular basis. My pains migrate and rotate around my body with no rhyme or reason. Pain is intensified at times, for no legitimate medical reason. And, sadly, as all my doctors have said, nerve damage such as this, is impossible to see even with the most advanced scanning methods we have. And, in most cases (mine for sure), there is no fixing the damage, not even over time. Once fused, its fused, as the old saying goes, you can't unscramble eggs.

From my many years of observation with PC patients, both here and in r/l, the ED issue/element is really random. Too many men that saw top doctors with nerve sparing ops having full and long term ED, and others like me, with known damage and other parameters that should produce ED symptoms, yet none. Totally not fair, just the draw of the cards at the end of the day.

For me, I would exchange some presence of ED in exchange to be relieved of so much pain on a daily basis.
