Severe is in the eye of the beholder so to speak. Taxotere does have significant side effects. It is definitely not trivial. But, I think someone can generally live their life in a somewhat normal fashion on Taxotere. I did have a couple days every cycle where I had to rest. With FOLFOX, am literally down on day 3 after infusion. I usually sleep 12+ hours on that day. The cold sensitivity is a big lifestyle impact. Right after infusion I have to wear gloves to even get something out of the refrigerator. I have to let all drinks come to room temperature. No ice cream for about a week+ after ... and I love ice cream. Having said all this, I worked all the way through Taxotere and I am working all the way through FOLFOX. I arranged to have my bad FOLFOX days on the weekend. One just has to hunker down and press on.

I lost a lot of hair on Taxotere. But, not all of it. And, it turned white. Then, it came back in dark, full, and wavy. I was thinking that was the silver lining. Sadly, that lasted only about 6 months before I was back to the balding scenario. FOLFOX does not cause hair loss.
