Well, I'm sorry it's been so long since my last post, but life (and kids)(and grandkids) are keeping me busy. But I did want to share with the group that I had another psa done last week and got the results today. Because the previous test 4 months ago was a low sensitivity and only came back as <1, I asked for the ultra sensitive test this time. It came back as an untreated result of <.02. Some parts of the results were a little confusing. They used the Beckman Coulter DxI method. Also, it stated the "untreated result as <.02, but then went on to reference the test as "Post Prostatectomy with HAMA treatment PSA, HAMA also as <.02 Not sure I understand the difference, but I focused immediately on the <.02.
Anyway, I'm thrilled with the news. Because I had requested this done through our family doc, I sent a text to my uro. He responded in a couple minutes with an "opinion" stating; "I think you have this thing beat"
Is he right? Only time will tell...but for now, I'll keep enjoying being a zero!
For all you G9 guys, especially the new ones, there is hope, and, so far, I'm proof. From the day of diagnosis and finding out I was a G9 back in 2010, I've been a little pessimistic about the future. I may have to change my thinking. And who knows...the next test may be the one, but for now, I'm feeling good. I may have to put off the next test for a long time....lol
