psa .006. 3 months back was .001.
does this mean zero or drastic increase. I see < sign with most results on the forum but my lab doesnt use that. Is it relevant? would appreciate comments.
2. post imrt SEs are manageable. I have become pretty sensitive as far as diet is concerned. I feel some affects on the colon and rectum area and have a fair bit of flatulence issues at times. does this indicate some recurrence?

doubling times...drastic increases to not come into play at low levels of psa such as what your lab can detect.. this is double true{pun intended} with radiation treatment as primary source of treatment. Also your particulars of clinical data{biopsy results} would help... the folowing is not directed at you mounty...
I wish there was software that required al new menbers to sign off on sticky thread dealing with pca and also a requirement that a signature be displayed at least thru post treatment.. of course it wont happen...but it sure would eliminate redundancy and frustration for veteran members.. This is the 21st century after all... Monty you have so little to be concerned with....having said that... I do understand your concern even tho there is zero,nada zip reason for such...Good luck enjoy your life.

frustrated that the signature did not got through!!!

Age – 64 at dx apr 2015
apr 2015 psa 10.517 Gleason 3 +3 = 6
mri apr 15 ca stage t3b, sv involved
bone scan- negative
HT started 10 may 15 lorelin 11.25 3 monthly.
pre radiation psa 0.5
Imrt 40 sessions june 15
6 nov psa .003. 6 months ht completed nov 15. end of HT and 3 monthly psa check advised
22 feb psa .001
10 may .006

for what it's worth.

my OS was telling me just last week about a patient who went from a .02 to a .10 and they were quite concerned, but decided to let it go for a week or two.
the next reading for psa went down to .02 and continued to even go lower!!

psa is just a marker. it is NOT a sign of recurrence but can be other factors.

I asked her what she thought and she answered " we have no idea what prompted this increase nor it's falling either"

she did brachy on me and i went from a 1.8 to 1.3 in the 3 months after first 3 month psa check. I was told it will be years of going down, so to be patient and any uptick is not to be worried about.

so for you or anyone else out there. take a deep breath and get on with your life. no one is dying here.

At those low levels, the number can bounce a bit and not mean anything. It's tricky measuring PSA at those levels. You're likely fine to just wait for the next test.

It's nothing to worry about at the moment, just a data point to keep track of. If it keeps going, then you need to start talking to the docs again.
