SAD NEWS: We've Lost A Battle Brother

Dear Friends, One & All ~

It is with a very heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of our fellow battle brother, JPENN44.

Jordan had been a fierce warrior in the fight, diagnosed a year ago with advanced prostate cancer. As many of you will remember, his initial PSA was over 5,000 at diagnosis, with involvement in the lungs, lymph nodes, and bones, diagnosed when he was 43 years old.

Jordan was a well-known contributor here on the forum, welcoming newcomers and thankful to hear the news of anyone's success stories.

His motto became: "FIGHT, SURVIVE, THRIVE" --- he became an advocate for prostate cancer awareness and education and did some public speaking on behalf of prostate cancer awareness.

He formed a friendship with country western singer Jimmy Charles, and helped promote the prostate cancer anthem song "SUPERMAN" which Jimmy Charles performs today, in honor of prostate cancer battle brothers.

If you've never seen the song "Superman" by Jimmy Charles, you can watch it on youtube.com, as it became Jordan's theme song in his personal battle. The song is very inspiring ... beyond words ... dedicated to all of us involved in this battle together.

Jordan was a loyal BATTLE BROTHER of mine here on the forum, and we exchanged many messages over the course of the past year. We had many interests in common and I will miss him here as a BATTLE BROTHER and as a friend dedicated to the cause.

His diagnosis came last summer, so his battle was brief ... just over a year ... but it was valiant and brave beyond all words to describe. I know many of you formed a kinship with him over the past year here on the forum, as well.

I'll always remember Jordan's determination and sense of hope.

Thanks for the gift of friendship, JPENN44. You will be remembered ... and greatly missed here, my fellow "brother in the battle" ...

I am grateful to you for letting us know Cyclone. I have been waiting for an email and watching for a post from Jordan, and sadly there will be no more. He was such a nice person and always so encouraging to me and Gary. And a wicked sense of humour too. Blue skies Jordan in a place with no pain. You will be missed by your brothers and sisters!

Oh my. I, too, was wondering if something had happened with him. Be at peace, Jordan.

So sad to hear this. Such a positive person, and inspirational blog. We can celebrate his memory, while mourning his loss. Prayers to all around him.

This is a real enemy we are all fighting; some longer, some shorter, but all too real.

So sorry to hear this. He was such a positive person and such a fighter. I had feared the worst because he hadn't posted for such a long time. Our thoughts are prayers are with his family and friends.

So sorry to hear this news. I remember him as a relatively new member who was very supportive of others. Shocking to hear this after such a brief time from diagnoses.
RIP Jordan.

I did not know him but I am saddened to here of his passing.

I am sure he would not want you to remain sad for too long. So cry for a while, morn him, grieve for him. In time though, I hope that his zest for life will leave everyone with the courage to live on.

RIP brother, you will always be remembered here, in a place where you ment so much to so many.

I am very sorry to hear this....he was so positive in the face of his advanced disease....my thoughts go out to his family and dear friends.
