Please help me understand my prescription. The Pharmacist tried, but I zoned out after he started because he confused the crap out of me and I was in a hurry cause I had to be at work. This is my script for 5 ml:
Papaverine Hydrochloride - 150.00MG
Phentolamine Mesylate - 5.00MG
Prostaglandine, E1 - 0.050MG

I left out the inert ingredients. Is this a normal script or would this be considered a low dosage? Seems like the Prostaglandin is on the low side compared to what others are using from what I have read. I tried my first dosage today (.20ml) to see how I would react. It was ok, but not like I was hoping for. Did bimix and at .8ml it was only ok. Switched to try trimix. Any help and words of encouragement would be appreciated.

I am not that person. Aside from being female, my DH has been on IT for nearly six years.
And don't ask Todd1963 how to locate the injection site. He walks funny from regular injections into his thigh!

Hey Beth,

Thank you for the welcome. I hope Todd1963 has found the correct spot to inject by now! LOL It might be difficult to walk around stiff legged for a couple of hours.

I am not having any problems with the injection and know for a fact I am hitting the right spot, it is just a matter of getting the right dosage and all that stuff. Trying not to get discouraged and this is taking a lot longer than I was hoping. Opportunity to experiment has been limited the past few months to the point that my first trimix bottle has almost expired before I ever used it. :(

It is fair to not understand the exact mechanism. I'm sure Tall Allen does, but I have to pull out Dr. Mulhall's books and quote. You should probably get a copy, or check the local library for one.

My criteria:

- Does it work?
- How much is needed to get the proper result?
- Does it cause pain that makes me not care if it worked?
- How much does it cost? (my insurance has stopped covering the injectables, so I have to pay out of pocket at retail price ($163 now for my mix).

So for mine, .10 is 15 minutes. Up to .12, 45-60 minutes. Up to .13, a trip to the ER after 4 hours. Pain? Yes, but less important than the added value devil

Your Rx is expressed differently from mine, which is stated as

10 MI PAP30 + PHEN 0.5 + PGE 0.01 MG / ML in a volume of 10 ml.

Everyone talks as if there is a "standard" mix, but I've not found that to be true. My pharmacist says 10 uros, 10 "standards".

Also, ask your pharmacy to make 2 5ml bottles instead of 1 10. Then freeze one. Mine has kept at least some effectiveness up to a year, although the pharmacist will say unofficially that it will hold up 6 months frozen.

Because mine is part of rehab, it is used often just to wake up the beast (I'm on Lupron and Xtandi, so don't much care about the devil aspect anymore.

The units of measure can be confusing. The Prostaglandin is usually expressed in micrograms/ml (1 mcg is 1/1000th of a milligram) while the other components are expressed in milligrams/ml (mg).

My prescription is relatively weak but a dose of 0.1 ml (10 units) works well for me. The prescription is:

Alprostadil 5.9 mcg/ml
Papaverine 17.6 mg/ml
Phentolamine 0.65 mg/ml

By comparison yours is incredibly strong, assuming the ingredients are the same compounds and the units are correct:

Prostaglandin E1 50 mcg/ml
Papaverine 150 mg/ml
Phentolamine 5 mg/ml

If a 0.2 ml dose is not causing aching pain then you have good tolerance to the prostaglandin but if you're not getting and keeping a good erection then you may have a venous leak that's allowing blood to exit too fast. You might try a cock ring as well. I find it also helps with engorgement of the penis head.
