Surgery because you are "sick of it"..now there's an interesting concept. You think you are sick of "it" now..wait 'til you have surgery. :)
Ain't that the truth! Although, people vary quite a bit as to their SEs. Regardless, plenty end up with some SEs that could make you sick of them pretty quick.
Sounds like it could be a SE of the antibiotic(AB), maybe. I had a friend that had to quit some AB over an ever worsening Achilles's tendon pain, that's when he found out about
the possible SE of ruptured tendon.
But if it is not the AB, you don't happen to have Plantar Fasciitis(PF), do you? I fought that for 20+ years, went to several different podiatrists, orhtos, had multiple custom orthotics and shoes, lots of stretching, one steroid injection, soaked feet in alternating cold/hot water, no luck. Just absolutely could not hike anymore. Then one day a Chiropractor agreed to use his new cold laser on my feet, 3 minute per foot once a week X 6. After 6 treatments I was much, much better but not completely, so we did 10 total. I have not had any foot pain for 2 or more years now, wear whatever shoe I feel like, hiked 5 miles the other day with light pack, no problems. If it is placebo, I'd like some more placebo that works like that. One caveat: about
the same time I had been sleeping in something that reminded me of ski boots, a hard plastic shell with Velcro that kept my foot from extending while i slept. This always made a big difference when I got out of bed every morning, but had not yet help any as the day wen on, or when hiking. Plus, it was so miserable to sleep in I think I had quit using it by the time I got the laser treatments. But who knows, I suppose that might have been part or all of my improvement. But I don't think so, I felt a very slight bit better after the first laser treatment, and even better after each additional treatment. So, who knows?
