I did the pills with variable results, and the usual side effects, for a couple of years and then switched over to straight Alprostadil (not bimix or trimix). Works like a charm every time the past three years.

Last time I got my script filled at the compounding pharmacy, it was about $160 for 20ml (split into two vials of 10ml each--one goes in the fridge and the other in the freezer for later use). My insurance covers the pills but allows $50 toward the Alprostadil leaving me a net cost of $110. I've titrated to about .14-.15ml per injection and that means I get about 125 injections or about 88 cents per injection.

I use a 31-gauge 8mm insulin syringe from B-D and pick them up at CVS for around three bucks for a 10-pack. I alternate sides for each injection and have about 60-90 minutes of "up-time."

A box of individually-wrapped alcohol wipes rounds out the supply.

My uro put me on a super trimix [regular trimix wasn,t working that well] and it has got Alprostadil powder in the ingredidents.Being it is made with the powder my medical coverage covers most of the cost. It cost me in Canada $6.20[my deductable] a vile, 3 mths supply, also he told me to take 2 extra strength tylenol before injecting for the ache, seem,s to work for me.
