Thought I would check in here now that I am 3 years RALP. Post op dx was Gleason 3+4 with one marginal focal point. I periodically check the site but there are others who are better at relaying their experiences than I can.
I consider myself to be a very lucky individual. Just had a visit to my Uro and all was good. My US PSA was .007 and cytology was negative. Ironically since my RALP I have had a number of urinary tract issues including kidney stones and benign bladder hyperplasia so this last report was really welcome.
The real reason I have posted is for my friends here who have recently undergone initial treatment for Pca. I can tell you that after three years I am doing well and I am still improving. I do have some stress incontinence which is very manageable with a light pad and erectile function is still getting better. At this point taking 5mg of Cialis three times a week keeps things going pretty well.
I do understand that recovery can be a slow and frustrating process. After all that's why we are called "the patient."

Scooter - I AM trying to be patient, as I wait for my first post-toastie PSA reading. Thanks for coming back to remind us that this is a process, not an event, and that we are all in it for the long haul.
Hope you get to come back to celebrate many more anniversaries.
