Of course, being the optimist (note sarcasm)that I tend to be, iamthinking being <.02 could also mean it was .001, then .007, then .012 , then .017, then .02, which would be a trend. So I'll just pray that's not the case.
As far as the 0.00 is concerned, I don't understand it either. But I was told by the NP about a year ago, that the lab sometimes reports undetectablE AS <, and sometimes it's reported as <.02

I also agree with Jacks point. And don't understand.... NP told me at my first post RALP PSA rest, tht they don't do anything until and unless PSA goes to .1. So why the h@ll do I need an usPSA?
I hesitate to question the dr, after all Tewari is one of the best. But, if the retest is. Good result, and I have my wits bout me, I might ask him at my next visit in February.

It would not be Tewari's call. He's a surgeon, not an RO. If your PSA were to show danger signs (which I rush to add, it is not), you would pay a visit with one of the many excellent ROs in the NYC and discuss it with them. Salvage RT is not Tewari's field.

Bolo, your a good guy, and you understand life. But Reltnie is right, and I don't think you get it. Everyone is wired differently. If You get a little NOISY PSA pop , and you could care less, then that's great. Your a tough dude. Not everyone is s tough as you. This has nothing to do with anyone's ego. Some people , me included, are a little more high strung. Even though logically, I know it's not time to be concerned, emotionally, I am. I'm much better than when I first came here, less stressed about sh!t I can't control. But I still worry.

Hrpnstuf, nope, I don't use Quest, haven't used them since the "incident" I had with them. I'm using the hospital lab.

Honestly, the only real anxiety I had waiting for the results of this last PSA, was nicety over the fact that I wasn't as anxious as I used to be early on. If that makes any sense.

Pax, spoken for truth. I've had my share of health issues in the last few years, including both me and Mrs Pratoman. And it seems like it never ends. I'm feeling almost like I'm numb to it already. Wasn't happy when I got the call, but I just sat there, absorbed it, and decided I wasn't going to waste 3 weeks of my life worrying till the retest, because I'll never get those 3 weeks back. A few years back, I wasn't capable of that.

Just so I am perfectly clear...there are cases where...the ultra sensitive test is useful...I use it my self...{actually I do not even do psa tests anymore..head in the sand...hardly...head in the heavens..or haven't you noticed}it is when indolent cases of Gl6 cancer has been[my value judgement} has been over treated by surgery ...and folks then use that as a constant cloud...then making it worse...by blaming wiring{ridickalos...change your wiring...that ability is what makes us a human being} that is what is frustrating...as they never see what is all around them every day...without this..selfinducing grief...and then blaming some one who has and continues to change their wiring...{ ill have some of that cheese about now} that grieves me...for you....is that so difficult to grasp... Im glad I started this thread. Because when I wake up thinking about my next test in a few weeks, and the possibility of recurrence, which for whatever reason has happened the last two days, I come back and read the thread again, including the link to TA's article, and it calms me down.
Dunno, I was ok, till the last two days, I find my imagination running away with me.

Had my retest and my visit with Dr, result is the same as three weeks ago, .02 WITHOUT the < sign. Not what i was hoping for, but at least it didnt go up. On the other hand, it was only 3 weeks since the last test.
Next step is retest in 3 months. Dr is also ordering a genomic test that they do at his hospital called Precise MD www.prostatecancercenternyc.com/diagnosis/precision-urology/

Also ordering a Decipher test if Medicare will pay for it. He said it gives more info than their own Precise MD, but if Medicare won't pay for it then he recommends we just do the Precise MD for now.

He said that .02 is nothing, could be a machine calibration (twice?, i dunno) and they consider it undetectable. When i paraphrased him an said, "so could be nothing or could be very early signs of BCR" he responded with "I wouldn't say that, i wouldn't even go there yet".

Personally, i think he was sugar coating it, he knows I'm a worrier. But whatever. I think at this point its 50/50 that it could be precursor to bcr.

He also said they dont do anything until it hits .1, and i am so far away from that i shouldn't be concerned. I have no plans on waiting till it hits .1 if i get two rises in a row, I'm outta there and on my way to an RO.

So my next retest is May 5th. Until then I'm going to try to put it in a box and store it in the closet. My daughter is getting married 4 weeks from tomorrow we have a big wedding planned and there is no disease on earth thats gonna screw up that wedding for me.

Sorry you have to play the waiting game. It's always the not knowing that seems to be the worst part of all of this, at least for me. The good news is that you and your doctors are on top of it early so that if action is warranted you'll be ready for it. At .02 it could still be a meaningless fluctuation. Lot's of places measure at <.04 or .05, so it truly could be nothing.
Enjoy your daughter's wedding and consider yourself a card carrying member of the Zero Club still.
