Xtandi covered by Part D??

Hi all -

My dad was found to have PD in lymph nodes to the doctor added Xtandi to his Lupron but its been over a week and Fox Chase has not been able to get approval from his Part D RX insurance. Is this typical or is this expensive drug typically covered?

In addition I believe Caremark took Xtandi off their formulary. What insurance company does your father have?

Go on the website and search for Ctandi in the druglosting/formulary. You can also call them.

I just did a quick search and a few items indicate they do so long as it is medically necessary. You need to work with Humana and the doctor to speed this up.

Call Xtandi maker directly. They have some $ help available depending on insurance type and income.
