It is annoying that we have character limits for our profile. I had given up doing it a few years ago. So many many details. Looking at it now, I see I can cut out a LOT of information (eg: MANY PSA results).
So, here is my updated profile, if it works.

Well... never mind. The old profile showed up. Guess it takes awhile?

There is a way to make it as long as you'd like it...let me know if that's something you would like.

It does take a bit before it is updated.

For a decade or so my wife and I had a business writing, designing, and marketing subscriber-based newsletters -- 8 or 12 pages per issue. I can't tell you how many times I looked at a space that demanded 400, or 800, or 1,800 words and thought I don't have that much to say. But after a first draft it always came down to how much can I cut out to make it fit the available space. Tight spaces make us better than we think we are.

I'm glad we have a limit and I wish there was a setting to only show a signature the first time you post in a thread like other forum softwares.

I have my sig turned off by default and only "include" it when it's relevant.

When I worked for the Navy at the Training Center at Great Lakes, our office published the base newspaper. My good friend, who has since passed on, was the editor, and he used to like to paraphrase the old New York Times slogan, which was "All the News That's Fit to Print."

My friend Jeff changed that to say, "All the news that fits, we print."

He also invented a slogan for the sometimes frigid base just north of Chicago, which said, "Great Lakes: where many are cold, but few are frozen."

Great Lakes Training Center...know it well...July 27 till Oct,sumpin or udder 1961 inspection on da grindah...best food Ive ever eaten before or since...Navy Chow...Chocolate Milk...as much as you want...SOS...mmm..good...Hurry up and wait...dental work...done...buzz cuts ..done...BFF...done

You old salts wouldn't recognize the Recruit Training Command these days. I retired in 2010 as Deputy Public Affairs Officer, but my son still works at RTC. Google Recruit Training Command Great Lakes (actually now the Navy's only boot camp) and check out the images. In current terminology, it's "bigly" different.

I had surgery 4 years after retirement, but in retrospect, I was having symptoms (at least of BPH) for a couple of years before retirement.

I don't want to hijack Compiler's thread, so let's get back on topic, eh?

Just updated my profile signature with my latest PSA results. Worked like a charm.

I would like to know how to get around the 400 character limit, if possible.

Regarding GLNTC- I'm just down the road from there. Although I didn't serve in the Navy, my business used to do work at the base. Quite an operation.

I have a two paragraph rule when it comes to reading a post. I may make exceptions for people who have something to say.
