We've got a brother in need of some positive vibes/thoughts/prayers.

Many of you know Nomar Lupron For Me, formerly known as Lupron Jim. In mid February, Nomar was having various symptoms that included back pain, insomnia, extreme fatigue, muscle weakness, confusion and even memory loss. He was then in a minor car accident. Subsequent scans showed lesions with brain parenchyma consistent with metastatic disease with surrounding vasogenic edema.
He pursued treatment and has just completed whole brain radiation for which he is recovering. He continues to seek excellent medical care and will have exams this coming week to find out about next steps.

I do not doubt that some of you have more information from your correspondence with Jim. Feel free to add to the above as you feel necessary but mostly I just wanted to start a thread to alert those of you who weren't aware of Jim's current status. He gave me permission (through his very kind daughter) to post an update.

Jim, I'm sure you'll get a chance to read this soon. Know that we are thinking of you and that we are with you in spirit as you have been with so many in your years on this forum. I hope you're finding time with family & friends to laugh. If you're having trouble with humorous material - remember that weekend when some guys thought you were my dad? We laughed then..... We are wishing you comfort and healing.

Oh no! That is terrible news. I have read many of Jim's posts since joining this forum, and have also caught sight of him (courtesy of such a catchy moniker!) on another board. He has been so kind to others and always willing to share advice and support - I just hope we can all offer as much in return. Our thoughts go out to you Jim and we are wishing you all the very best for success with your treatments.

You have such admirable strength. Your sense of humor has made me smile many times while reading your posts. I hope that you are able to use those attributes to carry you through and that your recovery time is short with positive outcome. Of course my thoughts and prayers for you brother Jim.

Jim, we'll be thinking of you, and praying. This is a real enemy we're all fighting, and as hard as you've fought I know you leave no stone unturned! This must be a very difficult time. Here's to effective treatment and minimal side effects, brother!

Jim - You are in our prayers. You were there for me, helping to pry me off the ceiling when I was first diagnosed. Your calm and often humorous responses helped me immensely.

I only hope that the rest of us can help you now.

Jim –

I still remember with considerable pleasure the lunches that you, Karen and I had together at Applebee's here in Gainesville on those occasions when you were here for your appointments at Shands Hospital. You were (are) both such friendly and enjoyable people.

I can only add to what the others are saying, that you have my utmost hopes and prayers for positive developments, and finally a positive outcome. You have always been a major player here on the forum with your excellent insights, your sense of humor, and your help to others.

I hate to hear this. Jim is such a good PCa warrior, and has been so strong for his wife at the same time.

Jim, Sarina and I are so sorry to hear that you are dealing with this.

I'm sorry to hear this news. I can picture you making jokes at GFMPH NY at our house. Our thoughts are with you.

Jeannie and I send our thoughts, and much positive energy to you both, at this difficult time. As others have stated, you have been such a strong warrior for this darnable PCa, and you have helped enlightened others as we have traveled this sometimes ugly path of life.
