CT results. Does anybody know what it means?

My MRI results showed something similar. The wording was something along the lines of "bulging appearance suggests extracapsular extension". Irregular borders and bulging, to my understanding, are suggestive of that. Also said suspicious for neurovascular bundle involvement. CT is typically less clear than MRI, so if they're seeing it on CT there's a good chance there's something there.

Surgery was offered to me, but I was warned it would have to be a "wide excision, without 'luxury things' like nerve sparing". The side effects were going to be at the worse end of the risk spectrum. My uro was quite equivocal about success with surgery, for me. Maybe ok, but just maybe.

I ended up choosing IGRT by IMRT with 3 years of HT (long, not usually done that long now, but it was because of the G9 5+4, and the probable cT3a staging).

Good luck with the decisions. Nothing is easy or clear with this disease and its treatments.

Sorry that you are here. May I suggest a third option: surgery, radiation and hormonal treatment. That is what I had for my agressive cancer. I started on Lupron about two months after surgery and radiation two months later. The wait to start radiation was because they wanted me to regain as much bladder control as possible as radiation has a tendency of freezing leakage at where you are.

The irregular borders suggests extracapsular extension. I don't understand "is pressing the bladder to the bottom." Was that written in English, or is it a poor translation? I suppose it means that the base of the prostate is pressing against the bottom of the bladder, which is not unusual. What country do you live in?
