OT Frustration

This afternoon I post the now closed topic about venting and Jim, Mr. Moderator sir, I understand why you locked it down.
Here is a case in point why I mentioned the word frustration in that post titled venting. I had a friend in South Carolina that was dx about the time I was 10/2013 with stage 4 prostate cancer. Albert and I would talk and email and text a bunch about what we were on and what was not working, his psa was in the hundreds. Albert 68 an old Jersey boy like me and I had some great conversations. I had tried to call him several time and emailed him last week and again today at work to see how he was doing.
I got a call later this afternoon after I posted venting from a number in South Carolina and I thought surely it was my buddy. Well a strange voice came on and id himself as Albert's boss. He said, "Tom I hate to tell you this bad news, Albert passed away two weeks ago." I started to cry right there on the phone I blame the lupron for that. I texted his cell and his wife a very sweet woman from Taiwan replied back. She did not have my number on her cell and did not listen to his messages. We talk for a while this afternoon and again both cried on the phone, she said the cancer spread into soft organs. He was cremated and they had a brief memorial service for him last week. I told Albert about this forum but he never looked into it.
Talking about drugs, facilities and docs are wonderful BUT I think this type of venting and sharing frustration about Albert is ok. What say you???

TJ, very sorry for your loss, Brother! And sorry to hear about the circumstances surrounding your discovery of this fact, and the delay in being able to find out. You cried because of Lupron? I bet I would have cried without benefit of Lupron. God bless you, Brother!

It's sad when we lose a friend. Condolences on your loss.

This kind of thing is why we're here, to support each other in difficult times.

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your friend ... it's evident you were both there for each other, in incredible ways.

I lost a friend of mine last summer, who was going through treatments that matched mine ...

He was my friend, who became my brother --- you realized, sometimes, that your "brothers in the battle" know you in ways that no one else ever can --- and you know THEM in ways that no one else can.

Sometimes, you form a bond of brotherhood that feels like you've known each other for decades --- you can feel as close to them as your "old friends from the neighborhood" from your hometown --- your high school buddies --- your old college roommates ...

The friendship bonds that you had serve as reminder to me of the importance of "reaching out" to others, who also face a health diagnosis ... in whatever ways we can.
