I was diagnosed stage 4 localized, 10/1/2016. Gleason 5+4.
3 nodes positive. Age 61. Treatment Lupron, Casodex and 39 radiation treatments complete. Wine makes me goofy. Never did. Lots of joint pain. Taking Advil but pain is still there. Can stop the wine but pain is a problem. Any ideas?

Talk to your doctor. There are meds that will help.

If you have arthritis, Lupron makes it worse. That could be the reason for joint pain. Talk to your doctor . Maybe Celebrex or ibuprofen will help.

Thanks for the response. i'm sure that's what it is. Just amazed that Lupron has so many side effects unrelated to its target.

Dave never used to have arthritis issues, but after a couple years of Lupron, he does now....he got his GP to prescribe physical therapy, and found a PT with experience with cancer patients. Too early to tell if it is helping overall, but the exercises are helping with his neck pain.

Celebrex did wonders for my Dad and his joint pain. Make sure to inquire about it.

I know about the end of my 6 month Lupron shot I had a lot of joint pain.....it has mostly gone away now 6 months later .....took over the counter pain relief for awhile ....~David

I have been on lupron since 2/2014 every three months. The side effects really stink, hot flashes especially right after I get the shot. Joint pain from either the lupron or zytiga or cancer. Doc is working to get me approved for xofigo infusions. Side effects there also. Just not sure what is worse fatigue and other side effects from drugs or cancer. Sometimes just want to head to Denver and sit on a hills and get stoned. But then I will get hungry and gain 50 pounds from the munches , lol
