Oh my, not at all! This is usually a rather drawn out affair, and we're pretty patient. It takes time to see doctors, get scans, see more doctors, pick ourselves up from the floor, and on, and on. Quite a few of us are here pretty often. I hope you find value here, and settle in. You're in for a rather long trip.
A couple of thoughts on this. You're terribly overwhelmed right now, too much is coming too fast, and you're barely able to hear it. That will get better.
This is a marathon run at a snail's pace. It is a long journey, requiring patience and persistence. It might help to think of it as an unwelcome new hobby.
One aspect of a Gleason 9 diagnosis is that the term "cure" is not often used. It's more about
seeking a "durable remission", and that is often achieved. The Gleason 9 type is notoriously difficult to actually stop, though it can often be put to sleep for quite a long time. For us, it's perhaps better to think of this as a chronic condition, kind of like developing diabetes. Don't stress over "did we cure it or not". Rather, we're looking to slow, to stabilize, to manage a lifelong situation that we will always be watching, and treating as and when necessary.
