Guys, I just finished my endurance test. Today marks my 40th treatment for a total dose of 72 Gy. It really went by pretty quick, but easier said now that it's all over. My experience with the radiation for the most part was uneventful. I maintained continence and potency throughout, but daily urinary frequency picked up a bit late last week coupled with a weak stream. Maybe, this will improve as my tissue heals over the next several weeks. Thanks to all of you that encouraged me to keep my spirits high and the willpower to see this through. My next blood draw for my second psa will be tomorrow - fingers crossed.

My husband RO also said they will do a blood test on the last day of radiation just to see where is PSA is

Congratulations for making it thru the marathon, randrball. I'm just a few weeks behind you, with 17 more of total 39 to go (have to make up two Tx missed due to hurricane Irma). Here's hoping your urinary issues clear up in a few weeks.

I owe you guys a follow up. My PSA did come back undetectable ---YAY, but I never recovered from the weak stream. My TURP (reaming / cutting the bladder neck scar tissue) was preformed this morning and the doc thinks, "I will be able to knock the bark off a tree in a few days." I sure hope he's right cause it became a real problem trying to urinate with pain felt just below the tip. We were driving home this morning and I asked my daughter if she wanted to name my cath bag. Of coarse she picked a good one this time around --- Figelhorn. Guess, she must have just watched that movie Fred, whose character's last name was Figlehorn. Plans are to put this collection bag, which will be labeled Figlehorn in her future box.
