I had dissolving stitches - the site of incision above the belly button will be painful for some time (mine was tender for at least 5/6 weeks). I am 6 months from surgery and if I press hard on the main incision site it still hurts a little.

Thanks progressing, I just started the cialis and thought that might be it

I'm 6 weeks post-op so we're in similar places in our recovery. I still occasionally have some pain in the area of the larger incision too. Sometimes it's just a dull pain/tenderness, other times it's more of a burning pain. My doc told me it would take 6-8 weeks for it to heal.

The bottom line, guys, is that RALP is MAJOR Surgery. It's not a simple hernia repair or even an appendectomy. They've been down in one of the most complicated parts of your body, moved everything around, and removed a significant component.

It takes months to heal. It just does.
