6 Years out from Seed Treatment

6 years after haing seeds implanted.
All is good. Latest PSA is <0.1 I feel well. The only question I ask myself is did I do the right thing by treating PCa? If I had it to do over, with a G6, I would like to think that I would have done nothing. But that is easier to say in hindsight. And I am one of the lucky ones that have had little to no SE. I think this disease is way over treated and therefor we over react. I sometimes think it's just a money making machine. I think most men will die with PCa and not because of it. It is just terribly difficult not to do anything when you hear the word cancer and everyone tell you that you must do something about it!

I had to put my dog of 16 years to sleep a couple of weeks ago. Such a tough decision to make and even harder to carry out. It was peaceful and the doctor was caring. I just felt badly for her. Trusting us that we were just taking her in to get her nails clipped or something routine. I will always miss her. I read Andrew's poem right before I went. It was a point on poem. the empty collar and leash walking through the waiting room. He could not have captured the moment any belter. Thank you Andrew for sharing your gift with us.

Glad you're doing well G6. I was also a Gleason 6 at diagnosis. But upon surgery post-op pathology I was upgraded to G7 (4+3). You don't know for sure with the seeds.

But you do know that your treatment has been successful. Congrats!

Great results, sorry for your loss. I have had similar good results from brachytherapy. And in August we lost our 14 year old Maine Coon cat who was truly a good buddy. My wife surprised me two days later with a Boxer puppy. Never a dull moment in our home, but very little time spent thinking about PCa.

I do agree for most men dxd they are over-treated, but it appears this is reducing with more AS, less surgery and more radiation-based therapies. For the high risk guys, we still face the risk of under-treatment and overuse of surgery resulting in SRT and higher risk and worse side effects. Unfortunately, it is being reported that the percentage of high risk at dx has increased in recent years. My uro has seen this as well. His practice is mostly prostate work. He recently reported that his case load has increased significantly this year, but the number of men he has been able to take into AS is the lowest in several years. His overall practice of about 80 urologists reports similar experience.
