Here's a brief report of my IMRT prostate cancer treatment after 22 of 44 days. I started (14) days of Casodex on 9-20-17 followed by a 6 month injection of Trelstar on 9-27-17. Hot flashes began about a month later. I'd call them mildly annoying. I started radiation treatments on 11-27-17, 5 days/week. So far I've had no major side effects. No burning with urination. A little tiredness that an afternoon nap takes care of. And some nocturia that Flowmax has helped but not eliminated. I've had a little diarrhea but I think that is more food related (don't eat raw onions any more). Some minor rectal bleeding with a hard stool just once. Hot flashes seem to be less frequent & shorter in duration (or I'm just getting accustomed to them!!). All in all it's been a lot better than I anticipated. I'll keep you all updated as things progress.
Harley, how many Gy's of radiation are you receiving? Just curious?
I may be getting adjuvant in Feb. and the RO may do 45 on the lymph nodes and 66 Gy on the pelvic area.
Thanks.
