Valentines day 11 years ago I was checked into the City of Hope for tests prior to surgery for my prostate cancer. After the surgery couldn't get it all the next few years were game on. I was late stage 3b. Today a much better story. My oncologist and I had fun in his office picking on each other. But worth it. PSA where I expected it and cancer free. I didn't get out scot free today however. My cholesterol needs attention and I was placed on a statin. My oncologist told me I should go on a vegetarian diet and I told him he should not talk to me that way. He told me then to add an extra glass of wine with dinner and I told him that's better.

And then we planned dinner in San Francisco for our next April SWOG Spring meeting.
I'm getting the wine. Probably a nice steak too.
Nick Vogelzang totally rocks. Great doctor, researcher, friend and colleague! I really enjoy the work he got me involved in.
All the best here. Happy Valentines Day!
