Fellas I slept about 3 hours and for the last two hours I have had the most pain to date. Surgery was 17/18 days ago. My eurethra started to burn so I peed. I have had discoloration for a couple of days. Called the nurse yesterday. They weren’t concerned. It seemed there only blood in urine when having a BM. The cramping was excruciating. I thought maybe it was constipation so I took Tylenol Percocet and Motrin. Also stool softener and eventually milk of magnesia. Laying or sitting flared it up. 3 showers and pacing in my bedroom helped. Above the bellybutton and below. After two hours took another perc. I’d had but one pill in the last 11 days. This pain was/is insane. It’s come in waves. I’d like to go back to sleep but my pecker and butt hole will start aching as soon as I lay down. Sitting on the toilet is similar. When I first found you guys a week ago, it was about my balls and the possibility of wood. I’m not going to ask God for a deal about swapping potential wood to ease the pain. I know that’s silly. It’s negligible presently and I’m so sleepy. I thought maybe it’s time to eat only fruits and veggies and some source of protein to mitigate the bm issue. But I’ve been regular. Here comes a wave mostly in the backside

I wonder if the cramping is bladder spasms? I had none of the symptoms you described.

Kenny, if you remember when we talked I mentioned bladder spasms. It is a good chance that is wat your having and it is painful. Call the Urologist they can call you in a scrip for meds that will stop them very quickly.

I slept about an hour 7-8am and then cramps woke me up. Went to the bathroom and felt better soon. It’s just weird that the pain jumps around down there

My spasms came in waves. I could almost tell when it was coming on. And I could almost tell when they were easing and going away. It's kidney stone strength pain.

If your feeling dehydrated and not sleeping due to spasms ...and don't get better....you'll want to put a call into the on-call doctor and have him call you back.

14 days after surgery....I was re-admitted with a leaky suture. If that's the case....you won't get better. things will continue to go down hill....and it can be difficult to know....when it's time to call and when it's not..so some wait longer than others and some get sicker than others before calling...but by the time I was readmitted...i had not been asleep for a week...due to spasms. I called the urologist on call on a saturday....and I called him back the next day... sunday... and we agreed I needed to go into the hospital. He suspected what it was the second time I called. He wasn't sure the first.

You don't want to come across as a complainer....so that can keep you from calling...and your hope is it will get better so you don't have to deal with it. But...You'll know when it's time....if that's what it is. You won't be able to continue with it. Urine plays havoc with your intestines.

That was the cause of my spasms for so long. It's not normal to hurt that bad...that long.

I vote for calling the surgeon’s office if you’re in a lot of pain and the meds you have aren’t providing relief. It’s probably something transient like bladder spasms, but it could be more serious. Let your surgeon ( or his PA or RN, whoever returns calls on the weekend) know about it. No reason to tough it out till Monday. Post-surgical care, including pain relief, is part of the package you’ve paid for.

Go to Urgent Care. They may be able to help.

well now he is aware of the options and I am confident...he will take care of it...he wasn't likeing it...I also find it a bit to put it gently...strange to talk in the third person in that way about op when they are always cyber wise potentially here...not judging...not a scold...just an opinion...
