Most of the studies I have seen tell us that "most" men suffer significant erectile impairment after prostate cancer surgery, both open and robotic. A strong minority retain good function if they are younger and had strong function before surgery. Many doctors do not do a good job of preparing men for post surgery problems.
If I could have a "do over" , I would have brachytherapy or primary radiation and not surgery. I have not had a natural erection in over 11 years, but I have used bimix injections with ok results. Still trying...
