I tried searching and it is hard to read posts from 2011 wondering if something else is better so I just asked the Q in a new post. Plus I was told Adapten-All could help so thought I'd ask here. I have not yet given this link to my MO but obviously will before I take anything. Anyone know about this stuff and/or anything else that can help at night?

I am only familiar with prescription control methods. My R.O. used Effexor or generic Venlafaxine, my Urologist uses Megestrol Acetate called Megace , Gabapentin is also used by my internal medicine doctor. Medroxyprogesterone Acetate had shown the best results but I don't know if it is still available, this was in a study from 2012.

Acupuncture seems to work very well, with evidence from small clinical trials.

Megace is effective but causes weight gain.

If you don't mind taking another drug, estrogen patches have good efficacy. The patches don't seem to cause blood clots like the pills do, and may have some prostate cancer-fighting effects. You might want to take 10 mg tamoxifen too if you go that route to prevent breast tenderness and enlargement.

The very same drugs were prescribed for me, just swap the doctors around. Still taking 2 of the 3.

Estradiol patches changed twice weekly do the trick!

Re acupuncture, the clinics I contacted said they thought insurance would not cover treatments, so if one is on HT for an expanded period acupuncture is an expensive solution.

Effexor (generic Venlafaxine) was very effective for me.
