Hi all. My PSA today came in at 0.7, right where I was hoping it would be, so YAY!
A relatively brief explanation of why that's good:
After ADT2 ended back in March 2016, as my T recovered quickly my PSA also rose quite rapidly, lagging a bit behind the T recovery. My concern led to much math (ala Gompertz curves), but eventually it looked like it was leveling off after a few months, around 0.7 or so.
My MO said the standard PSA test varies about +/- 0.1 over time, with body variations and test accuracy combined. So, don't lose sleep over changes in that range.
In April, it "jumped" up to 0.8 from January's 0.6. The MO's office sounded a little worried about it, but I said it's probably just fine. If the nominal is 0.7 then that's just within variability, and no issue. I told them let's see what happens in July.
So, July comes in smack in the center at 0.7! Perfect, and just as hoped/predicted. It could stay right there for a long time indeed, and that's what I'm expecting to see. If there are little weeds growing somewhere else out in my system, they're growing slowly and I'm not going to fuss about them!
Perhaps the IGRT +3 years ADT will continue to provide robust long term remission. With very little in the way of side effects, I'm happy as a clam.
