4th PSA SBRT Post-Toastie

Received my PSA and testosterone test results today for my fourth quarterly testing since completion of SBRT in July, 2017. My PSA results since treatment are in my signature but for the fourth testing one year out my PSA was 1.78. That follows a string of 2.5, 1.64, and 1.76. So I'm up for the second consecutive time, but only up .02 this time, so I assume I'm in the same situation as three months ago when I was up .12. Statistically, it would seem insignificant to me and very consistent. Is it as low as I would hope to be at nadir? Probably not, but it's early yet. It's clear to me that once diagnosed with this disease, testing to detect any upward trends is just part of life.

After one year I can report that I have no post treatment issues that have developed at all. I pee just fine with no drugs, sex is still happening, no pain, and no bowel issues. As I've mentioned before, the only after effect that I can attest to is that waste disposal, both liquid and solid "feels" different. I can't really explain that but after 71 years, one kind of gets used to the way those actions feel and mine are different. No pain or discomfort, but sort of an unusual feeling. So, I'm good with all that. Having been treated successfully thus far with no more significant issues than a subtle and different feeling when peeing and pooping is better than I ever would have imagined. I'm thankful for every day and life is good.
I wish all the best to everyone on this board who is putting up the good fight against this disease, particularly to the guys who are battling more aggressive disease. You all are in my thoughts and prayers and there are some very courageous souls on this forum.

You've come a long way down in a year. It's very early yet in your journey to nadir. I bet it'll be a different story in a year or two. Looks like you're doing great.

19T - It sounds like you're doing "swimmingly well." We took the same train, but I was a couple of months ahead of you. I'm glad you're doing so well. The future is bright.

I'm doing almost as well - my side effects have become history, most bodily functions are back to baseline. My PSA hasn't gone down as far as yours, but my T is way higher (TRT), so we believe that there is a connection there and will just continue to monitor.

As long as no major upward trends happen, let's just stay on for the ride!

19T47: Glad to see your post. We are pretty close as far as age, PSA's and treatment style and dates go.
I am sure you would have been happier to see those numbers go down a little this most recent test but I do believe they look pretty good. I have two labs running parrallel PSA tests. At 6 months ( a month and a half ago ) one went down 1.8 to 1.3 and the other went up 2.02 to 2.2. I also like you are having no SE issues but do have a "different" feeling. Pre TX I was having a few BPH issues ( low flow pressure ) and that continues but no worse and usually better than pre TX.

I hope things continue to improve for you or at least stay flat on the PSA numbers because who knows you may well be at Nadir, even this early.

Thanks to all for the insightful and positive comments. I know I am very fortunate to be in the position I'm in and I definitely have learned not to take anything for granted. We'll see how things continue to shake out as time goes by. Dr. Freeman thus far had not indicated any change in the frequency of testing so I guess the three month interval will be the plan for now. As was said, one year is still quite early post treatment so we'll see what the future brings.
