Stan - I wouldn't say that I'm "just plugging along" now. All through SBRT treatment, I did not miss a day at work OR a day at the gym. I'm now almost 2 years post-treatment, and I am in far better shape now than I was before treatment -- and I was in pretty good shape back then. I'm 70 now, and my usual morning exercise routine includes 3 miles on an elliptical machine (in 30 minutes), about 20 minutes of moderate weight lifting (machines - 50-70 lbs.) and then a "cool-down" of another mile on a treadmill in 15 minutes. Then, 3 days a week I do water aerobics, play bocce, take long walks or bike rides. . . just about anything I feel like doing.
Just give it some time. ASSUME that you will make a complete recovery. If you plan for anything less, it just may happen that way.
