great news man! what did you do to lower cholesterol?
F8, I purchased an insurance policy when I was 35 and my Tryglecerides came in around 500 (not fasting).
I’m pretty proactive on my health, so I’ve been fighting it ever since with varying degrees of success. My good cholesterol was always low and the bad was always high, along with tryglecerides.
I took “Lovastatin” for 5 years or more and my numbers were always at the high end, like 220 or so total cholesterol.
about
6 months ago my doctor switched me to Crestor. It makes my muscles hurt so I switched to taking it at night before bed and I don’t notice any side effects.
Also, about
the time I was diagnosed with PCa I had started a craft beer drinking hobby. In the past two or three months I’ve backed off those considerably and now drink a low carb beer mostly. Mich Ultra Amber, Amstel Light, Coors Light. I found that Bud Light (my favorite of the light beers) has more sugar and carbs than those. I don’t recommend drinking obviously, but as good as those craft beers are I don’t believe one can regularly drink those (2-3 a night for three or four nights a week), without some health trade offs.
And I don’t go completely low carb on the food, but I do try to hold my carbs under 100 daily (I think <20 is considered low carb).
