any tips on Lupron inj joint pain. it's awful

Hi, Mr. Retired I have been on Lupron since May 21, 2018. My last 3-month shot was August 18th. If you have severe issues with joint pain let your doctor know. I have found that increasing my exercise has helped with hot flashes. Also, it has kept my weight down, but I do have an extra 5-7 lbs around my waist that I have never had. Besides drastically reducing your T mine is unreadable <7 and PSA .012 Lupron is a doping drug, according to the International Olympic Committee. If you increase your exercise you will build muscle. I have more muscle in my arms than I have ever had. Of course, I have never really consistently done resistance training, pushups etc. Recently I tweeted my knee just working at my stand up desk which I have used for 25 years. I was blaming this on Lupron, but I believe I may have twisted it. So hang in there man. Hopefully, your docs will be responsive and provide you with some relief. Remember this is a temporary treatment and the side effects are transitory. It is bad now, but it will get better!

Hi Retired, I take Alleve and try to do more exercise doesn't always work out usually sleep in a couple of different beds so can change positions with my hands and shoulders where the pain is the most. If you get a chance add a signature to your posts.

When did you have your shot? I've had the "Lupron flu". General pain all over including joints. But it has gone away in 24 hours leaving just a slightly discomforting feeling for an extra day or 2.

Lupron is a trickster, entices one to sit like the old dog on the porch, then makes you hurt when you resist and go move. I get my second 6 month shot next week, there have been many times I started a walk and can barely get two or three blocks because my hip joints and legs muscles are screaming. I learned early on giving into it, which I did for a spell, gave the trickster power and took mine. Then there are days that I can knock off three mile fast walk or hike and feel nothing, no rhyme or reason. I go easy on the NSAIDs because of the bad things they can do, Given I already have heart issues. Trend is more I move regularly less it hurts, move in sporadic bursts it hurts like hell.

I believe joint pain is a known issue for Lupron. Exercise will help but the paid will like not go away completely.

You may want to ask your doc about switching to Zoladex.

It follows the same pathway as Lupron for cancer control but instead of an injection, it is a tiny pellet planted into the belly fat. Painless insertion.

It got to where next day after a Lupron shot I could not even get out of bed.

Sure helped me and may be worth a try for you.
