Weed is now legal here in the D, not that that makes any difference to me......other than lower paranoia.

Oh yeah - as much as I support the recreational consumption of cannabis and acknowledge its medicinal properties, I must remind us all that cannabis does not cure cancer. Sadly.

If it did, I would most certainly be cancer free.

Its dependent on the user...for me... Im a potocolic….for me if I have it im gonna smoke it...when I smoke/use it...and stop I have a 96 hour withdrawal...very nasty at that...its been 5 weeks since I stopped using it...even tho its a major help with ED...I do not intend on using it...I have never written a word high on pot...I have written many words with a couple of 7% ipa's icy cold...but they are not drenched...and without stench...my afternoon posts are influenced by the icy colds..try surfing and working out for five hours. then popping 2 12 ounce's with chips and salsa and a bit of popcorn...yep... the mornings never ever...I know the difference in content and am quite happy with the fused coin...tho I do find myself with more self edits in the afternoon...and I probably shouldn't even do em then...Im mellowing...I totally support 420 for those who choose it as medication or any re creating they want to do...just now when you re create...your natural re creating abilties are on vacation...I challenge anyone...who smokes it habitually to stop...and then have zip on the s/e...I understand fully about strains...so why even go there with me...I fully support any Mods who hold tight on their interpretation of the rules re..420 and standby any edit/deletion...including this one tho obviously I think this post has value off to the surf and gym as I look forward to those delicious and mind altering icy colds...dos...no mas

As with everything on this site it needs a study.
Not just proof it works but proof it doesn't.
There are enough anecdotal accounts that state it works that a serious study should be done, but not one by a pharmaceutical company.

I won't say it works but I also won't say it doesn't. Show me the f'ing study.

Buddy, I suggest that you need to read the report. Many are studying forms of cannabinoids including hemp oil. To say that no one is studying these compounds and their effect on cancer is simply untrue. My son is a researcher at Cornell University and says he knows of several studies going on there and in many other research institutes.

Regarding Rick Simpson Oil (RSO), it is really up to Rick Simpson to provide a study of his product specifically. Why would others spend the money to study his oil? I just read a report in Healthline that says he doesn't even sell his oil (RSO) rather he merely tells people how to make it.

It is clear that for a long time there has been significant scientific interest and ongoing research activity as evidenced by the lengthy status report that I provided for you.

The paper I provided cited 104 studies and clinical trials researching the effects of cannabinoids on cancer biology. Numerous were studies of solid tumor cancer, which includes PCa. Numerous were studies of epithelial cancers, which PCa is. Numerous were studies of breast cancer, which often relates to PCa as they are both hormone fed cancers. Three specifically are PCa studies. Of course you know all that since you read the report. You said no one is studying these compounds and their effects on prostate cancer and that simply is not true as this report shows.

Of course, as you know, to bring forward a series of clinical trials you begin with a sponsor of a potential treatment. In your case you are a proponent of RSO. Why hasn't he sponsored research and trials or sold the rights to his oil to a university or the NIH or a big pharma company to do the research and conduct the trials? Of course you and I know why none of that has occurred. And you and I both know that no one will do that until they have the evidence that the trials will have a high probability of confirming the positive actions resulting in FDA approval. Cost of this can easily be hundreds of millions of dollars. And, as you know, many if not most anti-cancer agents do not propose to cure the cancer, but to induce a remission for some period of time. Name one drug used for PCa that specifically says it will be curative and was so proven in trials. You can't because none has yet been found to do so despite more than a hundred years of research and development and clinical trials bringing numerous PCa cancer treatments to the patient.

Why are we supposed to think that RSO, right under our noses since 1975, would be the one substance to cure PCa that Rick Simpson or any one else could be making billions a year from all around the world curing everyone's PCa?

So there have been numerous studies and trials and there are numerous ones ongoing and proposed as there is great scientific and medical interest in the effects cannabinoids may have on cancer including the search for cures.

You appear to be a proponent of RSO. Obviously you could be using it with curative intent. Why isn't anyone stepping forward with millions of dollars to run the trials and bring the drug to market? Easy answer and you know it. When there is a breakthrough research finding that indicates control and/or curative effect of course there will be clinical trials and potentially drugs that can be FDA approved and reimbursed by Medicare and Medicaid and the VA and commercial insurance. We just aren't there yet. And as you well know these things usually take decades from initial research to marketing an approved drug. No doubt that cannabinoid research is still in its infancy.

If you think RSO will cure you, have at it. From looking at your PSA history, it is looking like the good old fashioned brachytherapy may just be the cure you have been seeking.

I had read about the ""RSO" cure around the time I was diagnosed, 12/16. As NM resident I qualify for medical cannabis. I was eating the oil. The doses were extrordinarily high. It took 3-4 weeks to get your tolerance up to be able to do it.

You're supposed to do it for three months. After one month my liver function went from 40 to 100. erved a purpose in my case. I was supposed to start chemo but it was delayed to wait for my liver function to go down. In the interim I found a clinical trial for docetaxel and Prostvac at NIH. If I had started chemo as planned I would not have been eligible for the trial.

I don't know if there's anything to it, but the doses are pretty high and you're quite wasted and useless those days.

True RSO and CBD "cures" are thought best when made from the entire plant. The hemp based products whose sale is not restricted are thought to be infereior. Personally, don't know
