As time goes by, in the months to come, the pump will or should find it's spot within the surouinding tissue. Before my latest revsion I could move my pump to the other side of my scrotum if I wanted to and iIt would return back to it's spot. He should be able to move it where ever he wants. To help you visualize what the pump part looks like , it is shaped like a pack of chewing gum, about 1/3 the size. On one end is the actual pump or bulb that operates the cuff (constriction band) on the urethra. The other end is hard material and the tubes enter there and close to that end is the lock button which would only be used to deactivate the AUS.
There is no on-off button as you might have imagined, only a squeeze bulb that lowers the pressure in the cuff.
Right now, assuming that he has not been to his activation visit, his unit is locked open.
I might not have understood the problem you described but I think there is no complication or problem, it is suposed to be able to move. so don't worry. This is probablly way too much information for you but since you got involved you might have wanted to understand.
