I think the paralysis caused all kinds of complications that cascaded to such a rapid decline. We know he got DVTs in his legs that might have broken off and caused pulmonary distress. His CO2 went off the charts and they couldn't get it under control, among other issues. When they took him off the respirator he was gone in a matter of minutes. The exact cause is not really important at this point. Complications from Stage 4 PCa about sums it up I guess.

So sorry to hear about your lost. In this time of sorrow I hope you are able to find comfort from family, friends and from the good memories.

What a terrible way to end the story. My condolences to you and your family. Did he ever get back home, or did all this happen in Evansville?

Thank you Halbert. We flew him back to Minneapolis Thursday night ($18,000, BTW - if you're gonna get sick, do it at home.). He died around 2:00am this morning. So glad we got him back here though, worth every penny.
